Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) Installation

More and more pieces ofconstruction equipment are being retrofitted with emission control devices. This DPF was being insatlled on a box paver at a local contractor's maintenance yard. The installation was quite involved. Mounting plates were welded to the device which were then fastened to the ferring of the paver. Imagine the DPF mounted directly above the photo of the engine on the paver's ferring. This is a trend that I believe is in its infancy. Every new piece of non-road equipment will be required to be built with diesel emission control devices beginning in 2011. A huge market for for these devices is brewing right before our eyes.
