EPA Awards $50K to the Wisconsin DNR to Retrofit Garbage Trucks
At last, Dane County residents will be able to breath cleaner air. Garbage trucks that pick-up trash throughout the city will be retrofitted with diesel oxidation catalysts. These devices effectively reduce PM emissions by 20%, HC emissions by 50% and CO emissions by 40%.
Next on Dane County's agenda is to reduce the rotten trash odors and dumpster juice leaks.
